Steve Pitts
As International Ambassador for the Confederation of European Probation, Steve Pitts liaises and works with stakeholders (international bodies, Governments, NGOs and others) globally to support the development and effectiveness of community-based (probation) justice, communicate verbally and in writing to conferences and workshops on probation matters, and represent CEP during the preparation of international events and forums including World Congresses on Probation and the United Nations Crime Congress (Kyoto 2021).
He plays a leading role in several international projects and initiatives at a European and global level to promote and strengthen probation and related organisations and evidence-informed delivery to international standards: including the International Corrections and Prisons Association (ICPA) Task Force on Women in contact with Criminal Justice Systems, the Penal Reform International (PRI) Advisory Council, the American Probation and Parole Association (APPA) International Committee, and the Editorial Review Board of the ICPA international research, policy and practice journal “Advancing Corrections”.
